Summary The Eritrean government was unimpressed that Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed was the sole recipient for the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize. Regardless, initiatives to restore geopolitical cooperation between Ethiopia and Eritrea were frequent and multidimensional over the course of 2018, but largely absent in 2019.
