Democratic Republic of the Congo President Félix Tshisekedi spoke February 27 on how he will form a new government administration in league with former President Joseph Kabila. Tshisekedi’s expressions validate that policy continuity, especially in the extractive industries space, will prevail. Tshisekedi was elected the Congo president on December 30, and his principal activities thus far have been to liaise with internal political stakeholders, meet with holdover government officials from the Kabila administration, and conduct an initial foray of diplomatic outreach to neighboring countries of strategic concern to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
